Overview
Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting of computer hardware and software applications while performing/assisting the repair process. Responsible for ensuring product quality through repairing and testing of product to ensure specifications are met. Documents issues and reports potential quality related problems to quality management.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose server hardware failures using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and low voltage testers.
- Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment to disassemble, repair, and reassemble server components with precision.
- Conduct routine maintenance on servers and related equipment to prevent future issues and extend lifespan.
- Follow detailed repair procedures, ensuring all work complies with safety standards and technical specifications.
- Collaborate with network teams to troubleshoot computer networking issues related to server hardware.
- Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, parts used, and maintenance activities for tracking and quality assurance.
- Use mechanical knowledge to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend improvements for equipment reliability.
Skills and Experience
- Six (6) months experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- One year of experience in an industrial environment preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Computer literate in a Windows Environment and Internet.
- Basic math skills.
- Accurate counting skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Must be self-motivated with ability to use own initiative.
- Flexibility to change direction frequently with little notice.
- Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Able to complete projects under tight deadlines.
- Legible handwriting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Able to maintain confidentiality.
- Able to handle routine assignments of a repetitive nature.
- Able to perform repetitive motion with hands and arms.
- Good visual acuity.
- Ability to recognize defects or flaws in routine parts and/or products.
- Must be able to work overtime.
