Overview
We are seeking a versatile Industrial Maintenance Technician to join a stable manufacturing team in a high-impact, direct-hire role. This position is perfect for a "jack-of-all-trades" professional who thrives on variety, overseeing everything from high-speed production machinery and Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs to essential facility systems like electrical, plumbing, and HVAC. Working a consistent Monday through Friday day shift, you will be the primary lead in ensuring the plant remains operational, safe, and efficient. Skills and Experience
Key Responsibilities
- Production Machine Maintenance: Manage a strict maintenance schedule, performing routine service every 6 months and a full annual overhaul on all production machinery to ensure zero downtime.
- Electrical & Plumbing: Install and maintain electrical outlets and lighting fixtures; perform weekly checks on all plant plumbing and immediately address accessible leaks.
- Air Supply Management: Conduct weekly manual checks of air compressors and lines for pressure changes and leaks to ensure a constant air supply for production equipment.
- Facility & Grounds: Perform monthly surveillance of the roof, gutters, and walls; clean gutters twice annually and manage light construction or grounds work as required.
- HVAC Systems: Schedule and perform routine maintenance on heating and air conditioning units twice a year (March and September), including monthly filter changes and exterior unit inspections.
- General Support: Assemble office furniture, run necessary wiring, and assist the production department or load/unload trucks via forklift when additional hands are needed.
- Budgeting: Maintain the authority to spend up to $100 per instance for necessary parts and supplies within the scope of maintenance duties.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 1 years of maintenance experience within a small to medium-sized manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills: Strong background in Lock-out/Tag-out (LOTO) procedures and the safe operation of electrical equipment; preferred candidates hold electrical or plumbing licenses.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED; trade school or vocational training is highly preferred.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and work at heights (roof access required).
- Visual/Audible: Vision must be corrected to 20/20 with excellent color perception to distinguish wiring; must have a normal human acoustical hearing range (20 – 20,000 Hertz).
- Environment: Must not be allergic to solvents or chemicals and must be comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled facility.
Workplace Expectations & Policies
- Attendance: Consistent attendance is extremely important to ensure the plant remains operational.
- Communication: In the event of an emergency, you are required to notify both the Onin branch and the facility directly.
- Cell Phones: To ensure safety and focus, NO PHONES are allowed on the work floor—no exceptions.
- Dress Code: No open-toe or open-heel shoes are permitted. For your safety, baggy or loose-fitting clothing is prohibited. Long hair must be pinned up at all times.
- Facility Conditions: Be aware that the facility is not climate-controlled; you are expected to dress accordingly for the temperature range and remain hydrated.
