Overview

JOB PURPOSE
Support in the following areas: Incoming, process, quarantine, shipping, customer service to assure reach the company’s objectives through their experience on mechanical, electronic, and electrical maintenance, installation and repair of production and facility equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES   
• Obtains written and verbal instructions from Lead Technician and/or Supervisor.
• Follow all general Safety Regulations and Policies; and make use of provided Safety equipment (PPE) as required.
• Maintains 5s philosophy by maintaining area and equipment free of hazards, clean, well-ordered, and organized.
• Executes Preventive Maintenance programs on all plant equipment and machinery and all facility equipment.
• Inspects, maintains equipment in safe working condition and detects hazards, problems, and the need for service, repair and/or replacement of electrical, electronic, and mechanical components to ensure quality product for our customers. 
• Troubleshoots mechanical, electronic, electrical problems to correct the abnormality using prints, internet, test instruments such as multimeter, temperature probe, etc.
• Maintains, repairs, installs mechanical systems and equipment such as, but not limited to, pumps, gearboxes, rollers, piping, and associated systems, etc.
• Maintains, repairs, installs pneumatic and hydraulic components and systems.
• Maintains, repairs, installs electrical systems and equipment like motor drives, wiring, PLCs, etc.
• Identifies, orders parts required for repair and/or rebuild manufacturing or facility equipment.
• Prepares sketches proposing parts or modifications to improve Safety, Quality Delivery or Cost.
• Documented ability to weld using stick type welder on applicable materials such as steel, pipe and structural type.
• Operates milling machine, lathe, surface grinder, drill press, etc. to fabricate parts, fixtures, stands, covers, guards, to repair or modify equipment.
• Operates forklift and aerial lift platform.
• Notifies Lead Technician/Supervisor of any unusual problems during operation.
• Inputs data into system for tracking, traceability, and to record work orders. 
• Checks, follows daily schedule, and communicates completion or any adjustments to Lead Technician/Supervisor.
• Cross training on different equipment and technologies.
• Must meet all established performance goals, productivity, and efficiency standards. 
• Practices and follows Lean Manufacturing, on the job training.
• Promotes Teamwork & Cooperation using FXI Values.
• Must have a complete set of tools and measuring tools to perform the job function.

COMPETENCIES:  
• Ability to read and comprehend oral, written, or diagram instructions. Speaking, reading, and writing skills in English and Spanish preferred but not required.
• Attention to detail. Problem Solving, Critical Thinking skills.
• Mechanical, electrical knowledge and understanding.
• PLCs, motor drives, knowledge and understanding.
• Understands prints, schematics, blueprints (mechanical, electrical), mathematics, formulas, and other sources of technical information.
• Basic computer skills (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
• Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position during shift.
• Positions self to perform repairs, install equipment, including floor level.
• Must be able to work on aerial lift platforms up to 80 feet on a limited basis, 30 feet on average.
• Moves equipment or materials/tools up to 75 pounds. Heavier materials may require assistance.
• Must be able to apply established protocols in a timely manner.
• Must be able to adhere to process protocols.

WORK SCHEDULE:  
• The Standard work hours will consist of 8 hours per day, 5 days per week on an assigned shift. 
• Scheduled hours may be altered as required by Production or training needs.
• Availability to work overtime or irregular hours to include Saturdays, Sundays and holidays as requested.
• Work at the assigned schedule and comply with the company timekeeping policy.
• Must be willing to be on call to support production needs as well.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 
• Technical School graduate or equivalent. 
• Forklift Certification
• 3 years’ experience making electromechanical repairs and installations in an industrial or plant setting.
• Welding, Electronic, Electrical Classes and PLC Training
