Overview
Operate equipment: Safely and efficiently operate a cherry picker, using controls like joysticks and pedals to lift, lower, and move both materials and workers to elevated heights.
Fulfill orders: Pick and pull customer orders from high shelves and prepare them for shipment.
Inventory management: Restock shelves, move materials, and keep track of product locations using RF scanners and warehouse systems.
Loading and unloading: Load and unload materials onto and from delivery trucks.
Safety and maintenance: Follow all safety regulations, perform basic maintenance, and keep records up-to-date.
Other tasks: Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, such as wrapping pallets and performing cycle counts.
Required skills and qualifications
Experience: Experience operating powered industrial equipment, such as cherry pickers, scissor lifts, or other forklifts, is often required or preferred.
Physical ability: Ability to lift and move materials, sometimes weighing up to 50 lbs.
Technical skills: Proficiency with RF scanners and basic computer skills for inputting orders into the warehouse system.
Attention to detail: Must be detail-oriented to ensure order accuracy and follow inventory control instructions.
Teamwork: Ability to work closely and coordinate with other tradespeople and supervisors.
