What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead and coordinate daily steel yard operations
- Supervise drivers, forklift operators, and yard personnel
- Promote a strong safety culture by enforcing OSHA, DOT, and company standards
- Conduct safety meetings, inspections, and equipment checks
- Manage inventory through cycle counts and audits
- Oversee receiving, staging, bundling, loading, and shipping of steel products
- Ensure forklifts and equipment receive proper inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs
- Monitor productivity and operational performance
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Partner with upper management to improve daily operations and efficiency
Skills and Experience
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum 1 year of operations, warehouse, yard, or leadership experience
- At least 1 year of forklift experience (required)
- Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification
- Valid driver's license
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- High school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)
