Overview
Onin Staffing is currently seeking a Drill Operator / Machinist for a well-established manufacturing company in the Shoals area. This position offers competitive pay, hands-on training, and the opportunity to grow your skills in a team-oriented environment.
Job Duties:
- Operate drill and machining equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints and specifications
- Use precision measuring instruments to ensure quality
- Assist with material handling and production processes
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Work as part of a team to meet production goals
Work Environment:
- Non-climate-controlled facility
- Standing, lifting, and physical work throughout the shift
- Heavy lifting required, including occasional use of 20 lb and 40 lb sledgehammers
- Training Provided: Safety orientation
- Equipment-specific training
- Forklift certification through the employer
Skills and Experience
Qualifications:
- Ability to read blueprints
- Experience using calipers and micrometers
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Dependable attendance and positive work ethic
- Ability to perform physical labor and heavy lifting
- Willingness to learn and cross-train
Preferred Experience:
- Manufacturing or machining experience
- Manual lathe experience
- CNC machining or CNC programming
- MIG, TIG, or Stick welding
- Forklift, overhead crane, or jib crane operation
- Technical school training or certifications
