Overview
Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dependable and safety-focused General Labor / Cleaner / Heavy Equipment Operator to support daily operations at our recycling and processing facility. This role involves a combination of manual labor, facility cleaning, material handling, and safe operation of heavy equipment in an industrial environment.
The ideal candidate is hardworking, able to work in varying weather conditions, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, safety-driven setting.
Key Responsibilities
General Labor Duties:
- Perform manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, sorting, and moving materials
- Assist with cleanup of work areas, equipment, and facility grounds
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times
- Follow safety procedures and report hazards or unsafe conditions
Cleaning Duties:
- Clean equipment, workstations, and facility areas as assigned
- Remove debris, spills, and waste materials from production areas
- Assist with general housekeeping to ensure compliance with safety standards
Heavy Equipment Operation (if certified/assigned):
- Safely operate equipment such as forklifts, skid steers, loaders, or other facility machinery
- Perform pre-shift inspections on equipment and report any issues
- Load, move, and position materials as directed by supervisors
- Follow all operational and safety guidelines when using equipment
Skills and Experience
Qualifications
- Prior experience in general labor, warehouse, recycling, or industrial settings preferred
- Heavy equipment experience preferred (certification may be required depending on assignment)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs or more and perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong attention to safety and detail
- Reliable attendance and ability to work assigned shifts (including overtime if needed)
- Ability to work in outdoor and industrial environments
Work Environment
- Industrial recycling/production facility
- Exposure to noise, dust, and varying weather conditions
- Standing, bending, lifting, and physical activity required throughout shift
