Material Handler – Rebar

Overview

 The Material Handler – Rebar is responsible for receiving, moving, organizing, and preparing steel reinforcing bars (rebar) and related materials for production and shipment. This role requires safely operating material handling equipment, performing inventory tasks, and supporting warehouse operations while maintaining a safe work environment. 

Skills and Experience

Experience:

  •  Load, unload, and transport rebar and steel products throughout the warehouse or yard. 
  •  Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, or other material handling equipment safely (if certified). 
  •  Organize and stage materials for production, shipping, and customer orders. 
  •  Read work orders, packing lists, and shipping documents to ensure accuracy. 
  •  Assist with receiving incoming materials and verifying quantities. 
  •  Perform inventory counts and maintain accurate inventory records. 
  •  Bundle, tag, and prepare rebar for shipment according to specifications. 
  •  Keep work areas clean and organized while following safety regulations. 
  •  Inspect materials for damage and report any discrepancies. 
  •  Work collaboratively with warehouse and production teams to meet daily goals. 
Qualifications:

  •  Previous warehouse or material handling experience preferred. 
  •  Experience working with steel, rebar, or heavy materials is a plus. 
  •  Forklift experience or certification preferred. 
  •  Ability to lift up to 50–75 pounds and perform physically demanding work. 
  •  Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. 
  •  Basic math and reading skills for inventory and order verification. 
  •  Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety. 
  •  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
