Warehouse Operations Specialist - Architectural Coatings Distribution

Key Responsibilities

  • Order Fulfillment: Accurately pick customer orders from inventory stock using standard work instructions to meet productivity and quality standards.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate material handling equipment (MHE) including order pickers, pallet riders, fork trucks, and reach trucks.
  • Order Preparation: Assemble customer orders, secure pallets using stretch wrapping equipment, and verify carton counts for accuracy.
  • Shipping & Receiving: Perform warehouse functions including receiving, put-away, replenishment, and loading delivery vehicles.
  • Documentation: Utilize Warehouse Management System (WMS) scanners and process non-regulated shipments through UPS Worldship.
  • Inventory Control: Participate in physical inventory counts and process damaged stock in the return goods area.
  • Safety & Maintenance: Adhere to all safety and environmental guidelines; maintain equipment by checking batteries and electrical charges.
  • Facility Upkeep: Maintain a clean work area and utilize 5S practices to improve job efficiencies.


Preferred Qualifications & Profile

  • Warehouse & Order Picking Experience: Experience working in a fast-paced distribution center or warehouse environment. Must have a track record of meeting daily production quotas or "picks per hour" metrics while maintaining high accuracy. Familiarity with using handheld RF scanners and navigating a Warehouse Management System (WMS) is required.
  • Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Knowledge: While we provide specialized training on the order picker, prior experience operating standard warehouse equipment like electric pallet jacks (pallet riders), forklifts, or reach trucks is a plus. Candidates must be comfortable with heights as this role operates machinery at elevation.
  • Shipping, Receiving, & Logistics Software: Direct experience using shipping software (specifically UPS Worldship or FedEx Ship Manager) to process non-regulated shipments. Experience with inventory processes such as cycle counting, put-away, replenishment, or handling returns/damaged goods.
  • Physical Capabilities & Safety Focus: Background in roles requiring heavy manual labor, with the ability to regularly lift 60 lbs and occasionally up to 75 lbs (paint/coatings). Experience working in an environment that prioritizes OSHA compliance and 5S methodologies for cleanliness and efficiency.
  • Candidate Profile Summary: The ideal candidate has 1 to 3 years of warehouse experience, preferably in a shipping/receiving or order-picking capacity. They are comfortable with basic computer entry, possess the physical grit to lift heavy products all day, and have a proven track record of reliable attendance.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift 60 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient with computer systems, WMS programs, and basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication).
  • Attention to Detail: High emphasis on accuracy, cleanliness, and following SOPs.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to be cross-functional and work overtime/weekends when required.
  • PPE: Steel-toe safety shoes are required. All other necessary PPE will be provided.
