Position Overview
The Pallet Saw Operator works as part of a team in the saw department operating a custom Optimax pallet dismantling system, which includes three bandsaws and a trim track. The main responsibility of the role is to dismantle pallets and separate usable deck boards for pallet reconstruction or remanufacturing.
Employees work alongside four other team members to process pallets efficiently while following safety procedures and production standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lift, push, and pull pallets through the bandsaw system to separate deck boards from pallet stringers.
- Operate the Optimax pallet dismantling machine, which includes three bandsaws and one trim track.
- Identify pallets that meet bandsaw processing specifications and separate those that do not qualify.
- Work with a team of operators to process pallet boards efficiently during each shift.
- Ensure deck boards are cut to the proper length through the trim track.
- Follow all safety procedures and SOPs while operating the machine.
- Maintain a safe and organized work area.
- Work closely with team members to maintain consistent production output.

Experience Needed
Required Experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production or manufacturing environment.
- Comfortable performing physical work, including lifting, pushing, and pulling pallets throughout the shift.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ability to work as part of a team in a production setting.
Preferred Experience
Candidates with any of the following experience tend to do well in this role:
- Warehouse or production work
- General labor or manufacturing
- Pallet building or pallet recycling
- Lumber yard or sawmill work
- Machine operator experience
- Construction or landscaping
- Material handling

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 40–70 lbs regularly
- Ability to stand and move throughout an entire shift
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing or outdoor warehouse environment
