Plant Operator- Quality Control, and Inventory Management Environment Chemical Material Handler

 We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Plant Operator to join our team in Denver, CO. This critical role is responsible for the end-to-end production, quality control, and logistics management of non-hazardous liquid admixtures used in the concrete industry. Role Summary:

The Plant Operator is instrumental in ensuring the Denver facility's operational excellence by managing raw material intake, precisely batching finished products, facilitating prompt customer deliveries, and maintaining all plant facilities and equipment. This position directly contributes to positioning as the premier concrete admixture supplier.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Production, Quality Control, and Inventory Management

  • Batching & Manufacturing: Execute the precise manufacturing (batching) of finished liquid products according to established Bills of Materials (BOMs) and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Raw Material Receiving: Manage the intake of raw materials, including verifying Bills of Lading against Purchase Orders, safe unloading, sampling for Quality Assurance (QA) testing, and accurately logging all receipt details (amount, time, vendor) into the inventory system.
  • Product Transfer: Efficiently pump finished product from mix tanks to designated plant storage or customer load-out points (trailers/totes).
  • Inventory Control: Assist with physical inventory readings and maintaining accurate inventory control records for both raw materials and finished goods.

Logistics and Shipping Operations

  • Loading & Metering: Safely load finished bulk liquid product for customer delivery by pumping and accurately metering the product from plant storage tanks into either totes or semi-tanker trucks.
  • Documentation Generation: Prepare all necessary outbound logistics paperwork, including load description sheets, delivery tickets, and inventory depletion log entries, confirming gallons leaving the facility.
  • Paperwork Processing: Process customer delivery paperwork upon the return of delivery vehicles, recovering signed customer delivery receipts, and distributing them to the appropriate internal teams.

Plant Maintenance and Safety

  • Facility Upkeep: Perform routine plant and equipment maintenance, including general cleaning of the plant and washing delivery trucks.
  • Equipment Repair: Execute minor repairs on pumps and meters as needed to ensure continuous operation.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.

Administrative and Support

  • Communication: Handle incoming phone calls to the facility, accurately taking and forwarding messages to the relevant personnel.
  • Versatility: Perform any other reasonable business need. This role requires adaptability and the ability to "wear many hats" in a fast-paced environment.

Skills and Experience

Qualifications:


Minimum Requirements


Education | High School Diploma or accredited GED
Experience | 1+ year of Sit Down Forklift (2 prong) operating experience required.
Skills | Strong organizational skills, conscientiousness, and the ability to prioritize tasks for maximum efficiency.
Math & Detail | Strong aptitude for basic mathematics and exceptional attention to detail in sequential processes.
Technical | Basic proficiency with computers and computer-controlled equipment, including working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Other | Current, valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

Certifications | Forklift certification

  • Ability to work in varied and sometimes adverse weather conditions (hot, cold, rain).
  • Dependability for occasional early morning start times or late evening finish times.
  • Able to lift 55 lbs unassisted.
  • Able to climb ladders.
  • Able to stand and work on concrete plant flooring for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

Education | Post High School education or technical training.
Experience | Direct industrial plant experience with the process of batching/mixing raw materials into finished products, with documented success in maintaining quality and consistency.
Technical | User knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint and Sage software.
Knowledge | Basic understanding of liquid and pneumatic plumbing systems.
Physical | Ability to lift 80 pounds unassisted.
