Overview
Perform welding on metal parts and materials.
Read and follow blueprints and welding instructions.
Prepare metal surfaces and materials before welding.
Set up and adjust welding machines.
Select the correct welding wire and materials.
Grind, clean, and smooth finished welds.
Inspect finished welds for quality and accuracy.
Use measuring tools to check dimensions.
Maintain and clean welding equipment.
Follow all shop safety rules and procedures.
Operate overhead cranes to move materials as needed.
Skills and Experience
At least 2 years of welding experience or related training.
Welding certifications required.
Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols.
Experience using measuring tools and grinders.
Good mechanical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be dependable and able to work overtime as needed.
