What You’ll Do as a Machine Oprator depending on your assigned role:
Baler / Material Preparation:
- Operate fiber baling equipment and help prepare cotton materials for production
- Assist with machine start-up and basic troubleshooting
- Monitor bale quality and packaging for accuracy
- Open cotton bales and spread material in designated areas for production
- Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe
Card Machine Operator:
- Operate and monitor assigned carding equipment to keep production running efficiently
- Repair broken sliver ends and help maintain machine efficiency
- Manage empty and full cans throughout the production area
- Process re-workable waste through designated waste hoppers
- Clean assigned equipment and follow required PPE and safety procedures
- Report equipment issues or unsafe conditions to the appropriate team member
Can Hauler / Material Transporter:
- Transport materials from the carding area to the spinning department
- Load and unload trailers and move materials throughout the facility
- Safely operate a pullcat and other material-handling equipment
- Stage materials in designated areas to keep production moving
- Work independently and with the team to meet daily production goals
Across all roles, safety comes first! You'll follow established safety procedures, maintain a clean work area, and help keep production running smoothly.
Skills and Experience
What You'll Bring as a Preferred Candidate:
- Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience is a plus, but training is available for select roles
- Previous forklift/material-handling experience is preferred for transport positions
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Strong attention to detail and a safety-first mindset
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during a 12-hour shift
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.; team lifting may be used for heavier materials
- Dependability and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A positive attitude and commitment to doing quality work
