Overview
Ōnin Staffing is hiring an experienced Diesel Forklift Driver to join a busy lumber production team in Muscle Shoals.
Diesel forklift experience is REQUIRED. Candidates must have previous experience operating a diesel forklift in a production, lumber, warehouse, or similar environment.
💰 Pay & Schedule
1st Shift – Starting at $17.00/hour DOE
- Monday–Friday
- Summer: 5:00 AM–1:30 PM
- After Labor Day: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Start and end times may vary based on production needs.
Mandatory overtime may be required.
🔨 What You'll Do
- Safely operate a diesel forklift to move lumber and other materials
- Load and unload lumber and production materials
- Move and stack lumber products
- Assist with loading and staging materials
- Transport materials throughout the production area
- Inspect loads and materials for safety and accuracy
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe
- Follow all safety procedures and production guidelines
- Assist with other production duties as needed
Skills and Experience
What We're Looking For
- Previous diesel forklift experience REQUIRED
- Experience operating a forklift in a lumber, manufacturing, warehouse, or similar environment preferred
- Ability to safely handle and transport heavy materials
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the shift
💪 Physical & Work Environment
This is an active production environment that requires:
- Frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Standing and walking for extended periods
- Bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, pushing, pulling, twisting, and reaching
- Working in hot, cold, dusty, muddy, and outdoor conditions
- Composite-toe or steel-toe boots/shoes are required
Important Requirements
- Diesel forklift experience is REQUIRED
- A 2nd interview is required
- Must follow a strict attendance policy
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screen
- Must be willing to work mandatory overtime when required
