What You’ll Do as a Production Welder:
- Weld metal components in horizontal and vertical positions
- Set up and operate GMAW pulse welding equipment
- Position, align, clamp, and tack-weld parts before completing final welds
- Use grinders, torches, hand tools, and power tools to prepare and finish components
- Monitor heat and welding conditions to prevent warping, distortion, or damage
- Inspect completed welds and identify defects or quality concerns
- Measure parts using rulers, calipers, squares, straightedges, and templates
- Read blueprints, specifications, and welding symbols
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work area
- Wear all required PPE and follow established safety procedures
Skills and Experience
What You’ll Bring as a Preferred Candidate:
- Previous production or structural welding experience
- Experience with GMAW pulse welding
- Ability to weld in the 2G horizontal position
- Knowledge of blueprint reading and welding symbols
- Experience using welding tools, grinders, torches, and measuring instruments
- Ability to complete a written welding and blueprint-reading assessment
- Ability to pass the company’s welding certification test
- AWS welding certification is preferred
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited school
- Ability to work around heat, cold, elevated areas, hazardous equipment, and changing environmental conditions
- Ability to wear steel-toe footwear, safety glasses, hearing protection, welding helmet, gloves, and protective welding clothing (ask about our footwear discount options)
