What You’ll Do as an Industrial Sewer:
- Set up, thread, and operate heavy-duty industrial sewing machines to stitch real and synthetic leather upholstery materials.
- Precision-sew cut leather pieces, boxing, welting, zippers, and decorative topstitching to construct complete couch covers, cushion casings, and armrest panels.
- Work with heavy, thick leather hides, ensuring proper tension, seam alignment, and pattern matching while preventing fabric stretch or distortion.
- Read and interpret work orders, cut tickets, and assembly patterns to ensure precise seam allowances and correct production sequences.
Skills and Experience
What You'll Bring as a Preferred Candidate:
- At least one year of industrial sewing experience in a warehouse setting is required
- Experience sewing leather is preferred
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Goal-oriented and safety-conscious
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on your feet for 8-hour shifts
