Overview
Ōnin is seeking dependable, safety-focused Manufacturing Operators to join a production team in Mesa, AZ. This position is responsible for operating and monitoring manufacturing equipment while maintaining established safety, quality, and production standards.
The ideal candidate has previous manufacturing experience, strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to recognize and troubleshoot basic equipment or process issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, adjust, and clean manufacturing equipment according to work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Monitor equipment and production processes, making adjustments within established specifications to maintain quality and production rates.
- Perform quality checks, collect samples, identify defects, and accurately complete required production documentation.
- Perform basic equipment troubleshooting and minor preventative maintenance; report equipment, quality, or safety concerns to leadership.
- Handle and move raw materials, work-in-process, and finished products using appropriate material-handling equipment.
- Maintain accurate inventory, material usage, production, and traceability records within company systems.
- Follow all safety, security, quality, environmental, housekeeping, and hazardous-material procedures.
- Participate in safety and continuous-improvement activities and perform other production-related duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred; textile, composites, industrial production, or equivalent military technical experience is a plus.
Strong mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting/problem-solving skills.
Ability to perform basic math and read gauges, meters, production specifications, and work instructions.
Basic computer and data-entry skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify product defects or equipment/process issues.
Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
Ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain accurate records.
Ability to operate or become qualified to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes.
