Are you looking for a great career opportunity? Onin Staffing is hiring experienced Boilermakers. This is a Temporary-To-Hire position with a fabulous company. The ideal candidate should have 2 to 3 years of prior Boilermaker experience working in a shop or field and be able to perform the necessary tasks required to repair, rebuild, and fabricate shell-and-tube heat exchangers.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities Include:
- Perform breakdown of bundle to include knocking stubs and pulling tubes
- Perform mechanical cleaning including sawing, grinding, and chipping
- Read a tape measure down to 1/16 inch
- Read and interpret blueprints to understand work specifications
- Install test heads on bundles
- Perform Hydro test on bundle or vessel
- Inspect and test vessels for system defects or malfunctions
- Assemble and line up tube sheets and baffles for retubing bundles
- Operate overhead crane, attaching slings safely and correctly for lifts
- Load and unload trucks
- Hook up and break down equipment
- Operate various power tools, including grinder, roll motor, impact gun, knocking gun and tugger
- Operate band saw, bundle extractor, chop saw, and tube rolling equipment
- Comply with all applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of the company.
- Ensure all safety procedures are followed
- Demonstrate effective communication with supervisors and co-workers
- Comprehend instructions verbally and in writing
Skills and Experience
Requirements: The successful applicant will possess the following and be able to meet pre-employment screening requirements.
- 2-3 years of relevant Boilermaker experience in a shop or in the field
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Working knowledge of fabrication shop practices
- Must be able to read and write English
- Must be able to interpret drawings
- Accurately read and interpret measuring devices
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to bend, push, pull, twist, squat, crawl, lift, and reach overhead
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds
- Must be able to operate powered industrial truck and mechanical lift equipment, including overhead crane
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- Ability to make sound decisions based on a combination of factors, including knowledge, experience, and judgment required
- Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with supervisors and co-workers required.
- Must be able to work, when necessary, overtime, day and night shift, and/or weekend
Hourly pay for the Boilermaker position is $24.25 - $28.50 per hour depending on experience.
Day shift and night shift positions available. Currently working 10-hour shifts and every other Saturday.
