Overview

 As a Finishing & Deburring Technician, you'll be the craftsman behind the final look and feel of our fabricated metal components. Using precision grinding, deburring, sanding, and polishing techniques, you'll transform raw, welded parts into clean, consistent, customer-ready finishes. You'll work closely with Welding, Fabrication, Assembly, Engineering, and Quality to make sure every part not only performs well but looks the part. If you take pride in fine, detail-oriented craftsmanship 
  • Perform precision grinding, deburring, sanding, brushing, blending, and polishing of fabricated metal components.
  • Produce consistent cosmetic finishes including #4 brushed, directional grain, satin, and other customer-specified finishes.
  • Remove weld discoloration, scratches, burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections while maintaining dimensional integrity.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, travelers, work instructions, and engineering drawings.
  • Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet cosmetic, dimensional, and quality requirements.
  • Operate hand tools, pneumatic tools, pedestal grinders, belt sanders, polishing equipment, and other finishing machinery safely.
  • Select proper abrasives, belts, pads, and polishing compounds based on material type and finish requirements.
  • Verify work using measuring tools including tape measures, calipers, squares, and finish samples.

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing, metal fabrication, or a related finishing/deburring role.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience with stainless steel finishing, polishing, grinding, and deburring
  • Ability to read blueprints and manufacturing documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail with pride in producing high-quality workmanship.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Experience finishing stainless steel products for sanitary, pharmaceutical, food processing, or cleanroom applications.
