What You'll Do as a Machinist:
- Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and related machining equipment to produce precision components
- Program, edit, and optimize machine controls to support efficient production runs
- Prepare and stage raw materials for machining processes
- Install tooling, adjust machine offsets, and perform equipment changeovers
- Verify part dimensions and quality using precision measurement tools
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and production specifications
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance
- Support material preparation activities using saws and fabrication equipment
- Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with quality and engineering standards
- Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to improve processes and resolve manufacturing challenges
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
Skills and Experience
What You'll Bring as a Preferred Candidate:
- Previous experience operating CNC mills and lathes in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents
- Knowledge of G-code programming, editing, and troubleshooting
- Experience using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other precision measuring instruments
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
- Ability to perform machine setups, tooling adjustments, and equipment maintenance
- Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Technical training, machining certifications, or vocational education preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and work in a manufacturing setting
