Overview

 A Stitching Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining automated stitching and assembly equipment used in the production of electronic components, connectors, wire harnesses, or precision manufacturing products. This role ensures equipment operates efficiently, products meet quality standards, and production goals are achieved in a safe manufacturing environment. 

Skills and Experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  •  Set up, adjust, and operate stitching and assembly equipment according to production specifications. 
  •  Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, or process-related issues. 
  •  Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic repairs on production equipment. 
  •  Inspect finished products to verify compliance with quality standards, specifications, and customer requirements. 
  •  Read and interpret work instructions, technical drawings, process sheets, and production schedules. 
  •  Conduct equipment changeovers and tooling adjustments to support different product runs. 
  •  Record production data, machine performance metrics, downtime, and quality information accurately. 
  •  Collaborate with quality, maintenance, engineering, and production teams to resolve process issues and improve efficiency. 
  •  Ensure proper handling and storage of materials and components throughout the manufacturing process. 
  •  Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following all company policies and safety procedures. 
  •  Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, and waste reduction. 
Required Qualifications

  •  High school diploma or GED required. 
  •  Previous experience in a manufacturing, assembly, or machine operation environment preferred. 
  •  Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. 
  •  Ability to use measuring devices, hand tools, and production equipment safely. 
  •  Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. 
  •  Ability to read and follow written instructions and technical documentation. 
  •  Basic computer skills for data entry and production tracking. 
  •  Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  •  Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or rotating shifts as needed. 
Physical Requirements

  •  Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. 
  •  Frequently lift, push, pull, or carry up to 35 pounds. 
  •  Perform repetitive hand and finger movements throughout the shift. 
  •  Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and work in a fast-paced production environment. 
  •  Must be able to distinguish colors and identify small components accurately. 
Preferred Skills

  •  Experience with automated manufacturing equipment. 
  •  Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices. 
  •  Familiarity with quality systems, inspection methods, and process documentation. 
  •  Experience working in electronics, automotive, or precision manufacturing environments.
