Linen Distribution Associate

Overview

 The Linen Distribution Associate is responsible for ensuring the timely distribution, collection, and inventory management of linens throughout a healthcare facility. This role supports patient care operations by maintaining adequate linen supplies and providing excellent customer service to internal departments. 

Skills and Experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Distribute clean linens to designated departments and units according to established schedules and inventory levels.
• Collect soiled linens and transport them to designated processing areas while following safety and infection control procedures.
• Monitor linen inventory levels and replenish supplies as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of linen usage, inventory counts, and deliveries.
• Operate carts and other equipment used to transport linens throughout the facility.
• Ensure linen storage areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
• Respond promptly to departmental requests for additional linen supplies.
• Follow all facility policies, procedures, and infection prevention guidelines.
• Assist with inventory audits and other departmental projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in healthcare, hospitality, warehouse, or distribution environments is preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and transport linen carts weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality required.

Work Environment

• Fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Frequent walking and standing throughout the shift.
• Exposure to clean and soiled linens while following proper safety and infection control procedures.
