Paper Bag Machine Operator

Overview

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  •  Set up, operate, and monitor bag-making machinery and related production equipment. 
  •  Perform machine adjustments to maintain quality and production efficiency. 
  •  Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with quality specifications. 
  •  Troubleshoot minor machine issues and notify maintenance of major equipment concerns. 
  •  Load raw materials and remove finished product from production lines. 
  •  Complete production documentation and quality records accurately. 
  •  Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with safety standards. 
  •  Follow all company safety procedures and wear required PPE. 
  •  Assist with changeovers, machine cleanings, and preventative maintenance activities. 
  •  Support team members and supervisors with other production-related duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience

Qualifications

  •  High school diploma or GED preferred. 
  •  Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred. 
  •  Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues. 
  •  Ability to read and follow work instructions and production schedules. 
  •  Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. 
  •  Reliable attendance and punctuality. 
  •  Ability to work effectively in a team environment. 
Physical Requirements

  •  Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift. 
  •  Frequently lift and move materials up to 50 pounds. 
  •  Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with moving machinery and varying temperatures. 
  •  Ability to perform repetitive motions and maintain production pace. 
Preferred Skills

  •  Experience operating production or packaging equipment. 
  •  Basic understanding of machine maintenance and safety procedures. 
  •  Forklift experience is a plus. 
  •  Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
