Overview
Laser Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining TRUMPF laser cutting machines to produce high-quality metal components according to specifications. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings. Key Responsibilities: Set up and operate TRUMPF laser cutting machines (e.g., TruLaser series) to cut sheet metal parts Load and unload raw materials and finished components safely and efficiently Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and CAD drawings Adjust machine settings such as power, speed, and focus to ensure optimal performance Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment Inspect finished parts for quality, accuracy, and defects using measuring tools Troubleshoot machine issues and coordinate with maintenance when necessary Maintain production logs and documentation Follow all safety procedures and company policies Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required; technical certification preferred 1–3 years of experience operating laser cutting machines, preferably TRUMPF equipment Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints Basic computer skills; experience with CNC programming or nesting software is a plus Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and in a team environment
