Building Maintenance Technician

Overview

A Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving building systems and facilities to ensure safe, efficient, and functional operations. This role supports preventive maintenance programs and responds to maintenance requests for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building repairs.

Mon-Fri 8am to 4:30pm
$21/hr.


Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine inspections of building systems and equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair maintenance issues including lighting, fixtures doors, flooring, walls, and appliances.
  • Respond promptly to work orders and emergency repair requests.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and company policies.
  • Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors when needed.
  • Keep accurate maintenance logs and service records.
  • Assist with painting and general facility upkeep.
  • Monitor building conditions and report major repair needs to management.
  • Support setup and teardown for facility events or office moves when required.

Skills and Experience

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Texas certified electrician.
  • Previous building maintenance, facilities maintenance, or handyman experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various environments.
Preferred Skills
  • Preventive maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Good communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
