Overview
We are currently seeking MIG Welders to join our team in the Goodwater area. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and will include a welding assessment.
A MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welder joins metal components by utilizing a wire electrode, electric arc, and shielding gas. The role involves interpreting blueprints, setting up equipment, assembling parts, and inspecting finished welds to ensure structural integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Setup: Adjust voltage, amperage, wire feed speed, and gas flow rates to achieve optimal metal fusion.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret technical drawings and schematics to understand project specifications.
- Material Preparation: Cut, grind, clamp, and tack-weld metal parts into position prior to continuous welding.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect welds for defects, cracks, or porosity, and grind excess material as needed to meet quality standards.
- Safety Protocols: Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety procedures, utilizing required personal protective equipment (PPE), and storing materials properly.
Skills and Experience
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Technical Knowledge: Proficiency with welding machines, wire feeders, gas cylinders, and hand tools.
- Physical Strength: Ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and work in confined or awkward spaces.
- Attention to Detail: Strong hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness to produce consistent, high-quality welds.
