Overview
Onin Staffing is seeking a skilled and dependable Press Brake Operator to join our manufacturing team. The Press Brake Operator is responsible for setting up and operating brake press machines to bend and form metal parts according to engineering specifications and production requirements. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Set up, check, and operate 8’, 10’, and 12’ Trumpf and Primeline brake presses
- Identify and verify correct materials for each job
- Perform routine quality checks to ensure parts meet specifications
- Adjust machine settings and troubleshoot issues as needed
- Detect and report defective materials or irregular conditions
- Maintain required tolerances based on part specifications
- Handle materials, including loading/unloading using a forklift
- Use NAV operating system to scan completed jobs, print, and apply labels
Skills and Experience
Minimum Qualifications & Skills
- Knowledge of brake press operations and capabilities
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Mechanical aptitude; machining skills preferred
- Ability to safely operate tools and equipment
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Experience using measuring tools (tape measures, micrometers, protractors)
- Prior experience in light manufacturing or sheet metal fabrication preferred
- Experience with NAV operating system is a plus
- Forklift experience is a plus
