Ōnin Staffing is hiring for a client in the Albuquerque, NM area for a Diesel Mechanic position at a recycling plant. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity for a dependable, skilled mechanic who takes pride in keeping equipment running safely and efficiently.

Job Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and heavy equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance on trucks, loaders, forklifts, balers, compactors, and other plant equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine issues
- Complete oil changes, filter replacements, brake repairs, belt/hose replacements, and general service work
- Keep accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and parts used
- Ensure all equipment is operating safely and efficiently
- Follow all company safety procedures and plant guidelines
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Assist with emergency repairs to minimize downtime
Skills and Experience
Job Requirements
- Previous diesel mechanic or heavy equipment mechanic experience preferred
- Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and preventative maintenance
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues
- Must have your own basic tools preferred
- Ability to lift, bend, stand, climb, and work in a plant environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Reliable transportation and strong attendance
- Must be dependable, hardworking, and able to work independently
