As a Poultry Processing Associate, you will help prepare, inspect, cut, package, and process poultry products while following all health, safety, quality, and sanitation requirements. This position requires strong attention to detail, reliable attendance, and the ability to work efficiently as part of a team.
Skills and Experience
- 6 months to 1 year of recent work experience required.
- Reliability: Maintain dependable attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
- Poultry Processing: Assist with cutting, trimming, inspecting, processing, and packaging poultry products according to production standards.
- Knife Use: Safely use cutting knives and other approved equipment or tools to complete assigned tasks.
- Cold Work Environment: Must be comfortable working in a refrigerated or cold production environment for the duration of the shift.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs. May be required to climb, bend, kneel, reach, and carry light to moderate loads.
- Strong Odors: Must be comfortable working around strong poultry and sanitation-related smells.
- Cleanliness and Sanitation: Maintain a clean and sanitary work area and follow all required handwashing, hygiene, and food-safety procedures.
- Equipment Care: Ensure all equipment and tools are properly cleaned, sanitized, and stored after use.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all company health and safety regulations, food-processing procedures, and personal protective equipment requirements.
- Task Completion: Complete all assigned duties efficiently, accurately, and within the required timeframes.
- Following Instructions: Follow all directions provided by managers and supervisors, including changes to work assignments.
- Attention to Detail: Carefully inspect products and work areas to identify quality, cleanliness, or safety concerns.
- Drug Testing: Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and participate in random drug testing as required.
- Footwear: Slip-resistant boots or shoes are required. Discounted purchasing options may be available.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
