Overview
Our Client Partern, one of the largest food bank in South Carolina, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Fulfillment Associate to join our team in Columbia, SC. This position is vital to our mission of providing food to those in need, as you will be responsible for ensuring that orders for our partner agencies and programs are fulfilled accurately and efficiently. This role works closely with the Fulfillment Team and involves direct interaction with volunteers.
Responsibilities
- Order Fulfillment: Pick, pack, and stage food orders for distribution, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Inventory Management: Restock products, maintain accurate counts, and report any discrepancies.
- Warehouse Operations: Load and unload trucks, operate warehouse equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks, and maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Volunteer Engagement: Train and guide volunteers on picking and packing procedures to ensure a productive and safe work environment.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all food safety and regulatory standards, and follow all safety policies and procedures.
Skills and Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- One or more years of experience in a warehouse, picker, packer or distribution environment is preferred.
- Proficiency in basic math and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, labor-intensive environment, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff and volunteers.
- Experience operating a forklift and other standard warehouse equipment is a plus.
