Overview

 The Material Handler is responsible for receiving, storing, transporting, and delivering parts and materials within the manufacturing facility. This role supports production by maintaining accurate inventory, operating material handling equipment, and ensuring materials are delivered safely and efficiently to assembly lines. 

Skills and Experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Move materials, parts, and components throughout the plant using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment.

  • Deliver parts to the production line to ensure continuous manufacturing operations.

  • Load and unload trucks, containers, and pallets.

  • Receive incoming shipments and verify quantities against shipping documents.

  • Store materials in designated warehouse or staging areas.

  • Maintain accurate inventory records using scanning systems or inventory software.

  • Follow safety procedures and company policies at all times.

  • Inspect materials and report damaged or missing items.

  • Keep work areas clean and organized following 5S and lean manufacturing practices.

  • Assist with cycle counts and inventory audits.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Experience in warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics preferred.

  • Ability to operate forklifts or willingness to become certified.

  • Basic computer or scanner experience for inventory tracking.

  • Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
