Delivery Assistant

Delivery Assistant Position Overview: We are seeking reliable and physically capable Delivery Assistants to support our delivery operations. The Delivery Assistant will work alongside a driver to transport various goods, including furniture, appliances, and exercise equipment, to designated delivery locations. This position involves loading and unloading materials, assisting with the transport, and ensuring safe delivery to both residential homes and construction sites. Key Responsibilities: Travel to and from delivery locations in a vehicle alongside a driver. Load and unload materials (furniture, appliances, exercise equipment) into and out of a truck or trailer. Lift and carry materials, either independently or with the assistance of another person or a device (e.g., lifting straps, hand trucks). Ensure materials are delivered safely and efficiently to specified locations, including homes and construction sites. Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, ensuring a positive experience for the recipient. Follow all safety protocols when handling materials to prevent injury or damage. Requirements: Ability to lift heavy items and perform physically demanding tasks. Comfortable with loading and unloading materials using appropriate equipment (lifting straps, hand trucks). Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work in a team environment. Strong communication skills and professionalism in dealing with customers. Ability to travel to various delivery locations, with the flexibility to work in different settings (residential and construction sites). Delivery Assistants will not be required to operate motor vehicles or heavy machinery. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in delivery, warehouse, or logistics roles is a plus. Basic knowledge of safety practices related to lifting and material handling. Working Conditions: Contractor position with flexible hours based on delivery schedules. The role may involve lifting and carrying heavy items for extended periods.
