What You’ll Do as a Forklift Operator at a local lumber yard, treatment plant, and manufacturing facility:
- Perform pre-shift equipment checks, report any problems, and safely operate material handling equipment.
- Operate equipment to load/unload materials from the Wet Pad, Treating Tram, trucks, rail cars, storage, or indoor/outdoor work areas.
- For advancement opportunities, train to assist with quality control (QC), lab work, or lumber-treating processes.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment
Skills and Experience
Work Experience
The Preferred Candidate Might:
- Have 1 year of forklift experience and the ability to obtain forklift certification
- Be a team player and goal-oriented
- Be mechanically inclined
- Understand basic math and inventory techniques
- Need to frequently stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach, or carry loads up to 50lbs repetitively for the duration of your shift.
