Overview
We’re seeking a skilled Refrigeration Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of ammonia refrigeration, steam, and boiler systems. This role is responsible for ensuring optimal operation, maintenance, and repair while managing a high-performing refrigeration team and maintaining compliance with OSHA and PSM standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and manage powerhouse and refrigeration personnel to ensure consistent facility performance.
- Oversee safety protocols and coordinate with management in emergent or federally regulated situations.
- Prepare, execute, and supervise preventive maintenance schedules.
- Identify and resolve issues that could impact facility operations.
- Maintain all OSHA and PSM documentation accurately and on time.
- Train team members in equipment operation and support RETA certification goals.
- Manage and maintain the refrigeration department budget.
- Ensure all systems comply with OSHA, ASHRAE, and PSM regulations.
- Lead and manage projects related to ammonia and steam systems.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience
Required:
- Technical School Certification in a maintenance/refrigeration-related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on ammonia refrigeration maintenance experience.
- Strong understanding of Process Safety Management (PSM).
- Proven troubleshooting and operational expertise.
- Excellent organization and documentation skills.
- Leadership or supervisory experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field.
- Familiarity with OSHA and EPA regulatory processes.
