What You'll Do as a Safety Coordinator:
- Conduct safety/fire inspections, forklift training, and ensure proper use of equipment.
- Assist with incident investigations and help implement corrective actions.
- Support the development and delivery of safety training, including new hires.
- Work with management to develop safety programs and incentives.
- Contribute to Safety Committee activities.
- Help maintain safety supplies and coordinate safety-related inspections.
- Assist with maintaining safety records (OSHA 300 log).
- Perform other duties to support a safe work environment.
Skills and Experience
The Preferred Candidate Might:
- High school diploma or GED
- A genuine interest in safety and helping others
- Up to 2 years of experience in safety or woodshop/manufacturing is a plus but not required
- Comfortable using computers and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Team-oriented attitude and great communication skills
- Willingness to learn CPR, First Aid, OSHA, and DOT standards
- Have composite or steel-toe shoes (discounted purchasing options available)
- Need to frequently stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach, or carry up to 50 lbs.
