What You'll Do as a MIG Welder:
- Perform MIG welding on mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders to determine fabrication requirements.
- Set up welding equipment, select filler materials, and adjust settings for optimal performance.
- Fit, align, and tack-weld parts prior to final welding to ensure proper alignment and dimensions.
- Conduct visual inspections and use measuring tools to verify weld quality and part accuracy.
- Grind, polish, and finish welded assemblies as required.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, following all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers and fabricators to ensure custom project specifications are met.
- Assist with general shop duties, including material handling, assembly, and equipment maintenance as needed.
Skills and Experience
What You'll Bring as a Preferred Candidate:
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and weld symbols.
- Proficient in hand tools, grinders, and measuring instruments.
- Strong attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and quality workmanship.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Demonstrated reliability, strong work ethic, and teamwork skills.
Bonus Skills:
- Experience with TIG welding or other welding processes.
- Familiarity with CNC fabrication, bending, or assembly operations.
- Prior experience in custom metal or console fabrication.
