Overview

The Mechanical Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of a variety of mechanical and HVAC systems. This position involves both planned and emergency service calls, requiring a combination of hands-on mechanical skills and technical knowledge to ensure systems are operating efficiently and safely. 

Skills and Experience

Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair mechanical and HVAC systems (e.g., chillers, boilers, air handlers, ductwork).
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems in various systems.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Repair or replace faulty components and parts according to manufacturer specifications and safety procedures.
  • Conduct performance tests on systems to ensure they are operating correctly.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, explaining issues, and recommending maintenance.
  • Keep accurate records of work performed, maintenance activities, and inventory.
  • Comply with all industry codes, safety regulations, and local codes. 
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in mechanical systems and HVAC installation and repair.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, and wiring.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic and testing tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems systematically.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • High school diploma or GED; technical school certification or HVAC training preferred.
