What You'll Do as a Shipping & Receiving Clerk:
- Verify shipment details, including weight and quantity, against bills of lading, invoices, or orders.
- Determine the most efficient shipping methods and coordinate with carriers to manage costs.
- Label and prepare packages accurately for shipment.
- Pack and secure items using boxes, crates, or binding materials.
- Document shipping charges and maintain accurate records of weights and shipments.
- Keep shipping materials stocked and workspace organized.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move shipments safely.
Skills and Experience
What You'll Bring as a Preferred Candidate:
- 2+ years of shipping & receiving experience
- Experience with material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks)
- Knowledge of bills of lading (BOL) and shipping procedures
- Ability to manage shipping costs effectively
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and team-focused
