Position Summary
Ōnin Staffing is currently seeking Cable Operators for a manufacturing opportunity. The Cable Operator will set up, operate, and troubleshoot cabling equipment used in the production of custom wire and cable products.
Primary Responsibilities
- Set up and operate cabling equipment.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance on machinery.
- Troubleshoot equipment, production, and product-quality issues.
- Follow production schedules, specifications, SOPs, and work instructions.
- Use computers to access and enter production information.
- Use barcode scanners to verify materials and part numbers.
- Complete required production documentation accurately.
- Perform and document quality inspections.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all PPE and workplace safety requirements.
- Participate in scheduled inventory activities.
- Follow established 5S workplace organization practices.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 1–2 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Experience working with manufacturing equipment is a plus.
- Basic computer and math skills.
- Good hand dexterity and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist movements.
- Ability to work safely with both hands around manufacturing equipment.
- Steel-toed shoes and required PPE must be worn.
