Overview
Are you dependable, hands-on, and comfortable working around machinery? Onin Staffing is looking for a Loom Operator to join our manufacturing team in Crowley, LA.
As a Loom Operator, you’ll help operate and maintain machinery used to produce woven bag material while ensuring the production process runs safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards.
What You’ll Do:
- Prepare and set up the loom for production.
- Change shuttles and spools as needed.
- Deliver and load appropriate yarn materials.
- Monitor the weaving process and machine speed.
- Adjust machine controls to maintain proper production standards.
- Inspect woven material and identify/mark defective products.
- Clean and maintain the work area and machinery.
- Recycle yarn waste and keep the production area organized.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience
We’re looking for someone who is reliable, attentive, and ready to learn. Previous manufacturing or loom experience is helpful, but not required.
The ideal candidate:
- Is dependable and takes pride in their work.
- Can follow basic instructions and production standards.
- Has strong attention to detail and can identify quality issues.
- Is comfortable working around machinery and in a manufacturing environment.
- Can perform basic reading and math.
- Works well independently and as part of a team.
- Is comfortable with a physically active position involving standing, walking, sitting, and lifting.
- Is willing to work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Qualifications
- No previous experience required — training can be provided.
- Basic reading and writing skills.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position.
