We are seeking experienced Blown Film Extrusion Operators and Extrusion Technicians to join our production team. If you have hands-on experience running, troubleshooting, and maintaining multi-layer blown film lines, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Do as an Extrusion Operator:
- Set up, start, and operate single or multi-layer blown film extruders (PE, LLDPE, HDPE, or barrier films).
- Monitor and adjust melt temperatures, die gaps, air rings, line speeds, and resin blend formulations to maintain tight gauge and width tolerances.
- Perform continuous in-process quality checks (mil thickness, tensile strength, dart impact, treat levels, and roll appearance).
- Load resin hoppers, blend additives, setup screen changers, and manage roll changes/winder operations safely.
- Identify and resolve process defects such as gauge variation, gel contamination, melt fracture, or bubble instability.
- Perform roll changeovers, accurately label finished rolls, and move inventory using forklifts or hand trucks.
- Perform routine basic maintenance, clean dies and extruders during changeovers, and maintain a safe, organized work area (5S).
What You’ll Do as an Extrusion Technician:
- Fine-tune bubble stability, gauge profile controls, and resin blending systems for complex or high-speed runs.
- Perform routine maintenance, teardowns, die cleaning, screw changes, and preventative maintenance on extruders, winders, and auxiliary equipment.
- Diagnose process defects (gel formation, melt fracture, thickness variations, surface defects, gauge bands) and mechanical failures quickly to minimize downtime.
- Assist in scrap reduction initiatives, line speed optimization, and training junior operators on safe operating procedures.
Skills and Experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required; technical diploma, ITI, or certification in plastics technology, mechanical, or related field preferred.
- Minimum [1–3+] years for Operators / [3–5+] years for Technicians working specifically on blown film extrusion lines. (LDPE, LLDPE, HDPE, or barrier films preferred).
- Strong understanding of extrusion mechanics, polymer resin characteristics, and automated gauge control systems.
- Proficiency with micrometers, tape measures, and basic shop math (conversions, percentages, ratios).
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long shifts, climb tower stairs, and perform physical manual labor.
