Overview
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join a fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse operation in Chester, VA. Our client specializes in the production of plastic packaging and reusable material-handling products used across various industries. This position will support daily shipping operations and help ensure products are accurately processed, documented, and prepared for timely shipment.
Monday–Friday | 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
Job Description
- Process and prepare customer orders for shipment.
- Verify product quantities, shipping information, labels, and documentation for accuracy.
- Prepare bills of lading, packing slips, shipping labels, and other required paperwork.
- Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure orders are properly picked, staged, and ready for shipment.
- Enter shipping and inventory information into computer systems.
- Communicate with drivers, carriers, and internal departments regarding shipments.
- Track shipments and assist with resolving discrepancies or delays.
- Perform inventory checks and assist with cycle counts as needed.
- Maintain organized and accurate shipping records.
- Follow all company safety procedures and warehouse guidelines.
- Assist with other shipping and warehouse duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience

- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, warehouse operations, or inventory control preferred.
- Experience with shipping documentation and order processing.
- Basic computer and data-entry skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Previous experience with a WMS, ERP, or inventory management system is a plus.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are required.
