What You'll Do as a Paint / Finish Room Supervisor:
- Lead and manage finish room employees and daily production activities
- Oversee paint / finishing schedules and ensure production goals are met
- Inspect, train, and evaluate finishers and painters
- Ensure consistent color accuracy and finishing quality
- Troubleshoot finishing and mechanical issues and partner with maintenance on repairs
- Track productivity and evaluate daily, weekly, and monthly output
- Develop and implement standard procedures and process improvements
- Support preventive maintenance programs for finishing equipment
- Conduct routine quality and process audits
- Provide technical training and coaching to team members
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and key finish-room metrics
- Promote a safe, productive, and collaborative work environment
Skills and Experience
What You'll Bring as a Preferred Candidate:
- Wood coatings and finishing experience
- Automatic flat-line finishing experience
- Experience in cabinet, furniture, or wood products manufacturing
- Knowledge of conversion varnish, spray machines, and hand-spray finishing
- Strong color matching and paint/coating mixing skills
- Knowledge of wood finishing processes and materials
- Previous experience supervising or leading finishers/painters
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage production schedules, labor goals, and productivity
- Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
- Familiarity with hazardous waste management procedures
