Overview
We are seeking a dependable, safety-minded General Laborer to support daily warehouse operations. This position will primarily assist with waste and recycling management while also supporting the receiving team with unloading and moving new, boxed furniture.
This is a hands-on, physical role that requires the ability to stay active throughout the shift, safely handle materials, and work as part of a warehouse team.
Primary Responsibilities
- Operate the warehouse trash compactor safely and according to established procedures.
- Separate cardboard, wood, and other waste materials for proper disposal.
- Load and dispose of materials into designated open-top containers.
- Assist with unloading floor-stacked, new boxed furniture from inbound trailers.
- Move furniture and other materials throughout the warehouse using dollies and manual pallet jacks.
- Maintain clean and organized work and disposal areas.
- Follow all warehouse safety procedures and proper material-handling practices.
- Assist with other general warehouse duties as needed.
Schedule & Compensation
- Tuesday–Saturday
- Approximately 7:00 AM–2:00 PM
- Minimum 32 hours per week
- $17.90 per hour
- Temporary assignment with the possibility of additional staffing needs
Skills and Experience
Qualifications
- Ability to perform physical warehouse work throughout the shift.
- Ability to safely lift, push, pull, and maneuver boxed furniture and other materials.
- Comfortable working around warehouse equipment, compactors, and disposal containers.
- Ability to use or learn to use dollies and manual pallet jacks.
- Dependable attendance and ability to work the Tuesday–Saturday schedule.
- Previous warehouse, loading/unloading, general labor, or material-handling experience is preferred but not required.
- Must be able to follow safety instructions and work effectively as part of a team
