Overview

A Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep, maintenance, and repair of equipment, machinery, and facilities. Their duties include performing routine and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical or electrical issues, and ensuring a safe and functional environment. They may also be involved in installing new equipment, managing building systems, and coordinating with other teams or contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
· Routine and Preventative Maintenance:
Regularly inspecting and maintaining equipment, machinery, and facilities to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance. This includes tasks like lubrication, adjustments, and minor repairs.
· Troubleshooting and Repair:
Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and other system issues and performing necessary repairs to restore functionality.
· Equipment Installation:
Installing new equipment and machinery according to specifications and safety guidelines.
· Building Systems Management:
Monitoring and maintaining building systems like HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
· Safety Compliance:
Ensuring all maintenance activities are performed safely and in compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
· Record Keeping:
Maintaining accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including work orders, parts used, and equipment history.
· Collaboration:
Working with other technicians, supervisors, and facility managers to coordinate maintenance efforts and resolve issues.
· Emergency Response:
Responding to emergency maintenance requests and taking appropriate action to minimize downtime and disruptions.
· Inventory Management:
Managing and maintaining an inventory of spare parts and tools.
· General Maintenance Tasks:
Performing tasks such as painting, carpentry, landscaping, and other general maintenance duties as needed.


Skills and Experience

  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. Ability to use hand and power tools and diagnose equipment malfunctions.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues effectively.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring all maintenance tasks are performed accurately and thoroughly.
