Material Handling (Tugger Operator)

Overview

Material Handling will be responsible for safely operating a tugger (electric tow tractor) to transport materials, parts, and finished products throughout the manufacturing/warehouse facility. This role is essential to maintaining an efficient production flow by ensuring materials are delivered accurately and on time while following all company safety procedures.

Skills and Experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a tugger safely to move materials, pallets, carts, and supplies throughout the facility.
  • Deliver materials to production lines and designated warehouse locations on schedule.
  • Load, unload, and secure materials to prevent damage during transport.
  • Perform pre-shift equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Follow all safety policies, OSHA regulations, and company procedures.
  • Use scanners or inventory systems to verify and track materials when required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Work closely with production, warehouse, and shipping teams to ensure efficient material flow.
  • Assist with general warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

  • Previous warehouse or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Prior tugger or other powered industrial vehicle experience is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain company certification to operate a tugger.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Work in a warehouse or manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
