Overview
The Material Handler is responsible for receiving, organizing, moving, and maintaining inventory of materials and components used in the production of power and plant control systems. This role ensures materials are available for production teams while maintaining accuracy, safety, and organization within the warehouse and manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and components.
- Load, unload, move, and stage materials for production use.
- Organize inventory and maintain accurate material locations.
- Deliver materials to assembly and production areas as needed.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and carts.
- Prepare and package materials for production and shipment.
- Maintain inventory counts and report shortages or discrepancies.
- Review work orders and ensure the correct materials are available.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Assist production teams with material needs to support workflow and deadlines.
- Handle electrical components, hardware, and industrial materials with care.
- Support quality and inventory control processes.
Skills and Experience
Previous experience in material handling, warehouse, or manufacturing environment preferred.
Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate inventory records.
Ability to read and follow work instructions and production documents.
Basic computer skills for inventory tracking systems.
Ability to lift, move, and transport materials as required.
Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
