Maintenance Technician

Overview

Maintenance Technician supports the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the building by performing preventive maintenance, routine inspections, and general repairs to facility infrastructure and warehouse support equipment. This position plays a key role in maintaining the overall condition, appearance, and functionality of the facility while ensuring a safe working environment for employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Building & Facility Maintenance

  • Perform routine inspections of the building, grounds, and warehouse to identify maintenance needs and potential safety hazards.
  • Complete preventive maintenance tasks to ensure facility systems remain in good working condition.
  • Perform general building repairs, including:
    • Drywall repair and painting.
    • Flooring maintenance, including stripping, waxing, and minor floor repairs.
    • Light concrete patching and repairs.
    • Ceiling tile replacement and minor carpentry repairs.
    • Door, window, and hardware repairs.
  • Maintain hallways, breakrooms, restrooms, offices, and common areas in a clean, safe, and functional condition.
  • Perform basic plumbing repairs, including repairing leaks, replacing fixtures, unclogging drains, and other minor plumbing maintenance.
  • Replace filters, inspect, clean, and maintain mini-split units, portable cooling units, and other facility equipment while documenting preventive maintenance activities.
Warehouse Infrastructure Maintenance

  • Inspect, maintain, and repair warehouse racking systems and storage infrastructure.
  • Perform maintenance and basic repairs on dock levelers, dock doors, dock locks, and related loading dock equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections of warehouse equipment and report any conditions requiring advanced repair or outside service.
  • Read basic blueprints, diagrams, and technical drawings to support facility repairs and maintenance projects.
Equipment Operation

  • Safely operate power tools, hand tools, forklifts, scissor lifts, and other equipment required to perform maintenance duties.
  • Participate in required safety training and certification programs for powered industrial equipment.
Recycling & Waste Management

  • Operate and monitor vertical balers safely and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Perform basic inspections and preventive maintenance on baler equipment.
  • Maintain clean, organized recycling and waste collection areas.
  • Ensure proper segregation and disposal of cardboard, plastic, and general waste in support of sustainability initiatives.
Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and facility maintenance procedures.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, preventive maintenance schedules, and work order documentation.
  • Report unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or facility concerns promptly.
  • Assist with facility improvement projects and support emergency maintenance needs as assigned.
This position requires a hands-on individual who is dependable, safety-conscious, and eager to learn a variety of building maintenance skills while contributing to the overall upkeep and functionality of the facility.

Skills and Experience

HVAC
Electrician Apprentice 
GED or High school diploma
