Overview
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Groundman/Maintenance Technician to join our quarry team. This position is responsible for supporting daily quarry operations by performing general labor, preventative maintenance, and equipment repairs while maintaining a safe and productive work environment. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and willing to work in an outdoor industrial setting.
Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repairs on quarry equipment and facilities.
- Assist with preventative maintenance on conveyors, crushers, screens, and other plant equipment.
- Clean and maintain work areas to ensure a safe operating environment.
- Use hand and power tools to complete maintenance tasks.
- Inspect equipment and report mechanical issues to supervisors.
- Assist mechanics with repairs and equipment installations.
- Follow all company safety policies and MSHA regulations.
- Perform general labor duties as needed to support quarry operations.
- Work effectively as part of a team to keep production running efficien
Skills and Experience
Qualifications
- Previous maintenance, construction, industrial, or mechanical experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work safely in a quarry environment.
- Reliable attendance and dependable transportation.
- MSHA certification is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work on uneven terrain for extended periods.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work around dust, noise, and heavy equipment.
- Willingness to work overtime when needed.
