Overview
The Reach Truck Operator is responsible for safely operating material handling equipment to move, store, and retrieve inventory throughout the warehouse. This role supports shipping, receiving, inventory management, and recycling operations while maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, and productivity. The ideal candidate has prior warehouse experience, strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely operate reach trucks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment to transport materials throughout the facility.
- Load, unload, move, and store materials according to established procedures and work instructions.
- Coordinate with Quality, Warehouse, Materials, and other departments to support operational goals.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with inventory control activities.
- Support shipping and receiving operations by ensuring materials are staged and delivered to appropriate locations.
- Process and handle recyclable materials, including sorting, storage, and baling activities.
- Communicate shipment and inventory status updates with supervisors, managers, and internal stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies.
- Follow all safety procedures and equipment operating guidelines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience
Required
- Previous warehouse, distribution, or shipping experience.
- Forklift and/or reach truck operating experience.
- Ability to obtain or maintain forklift certification.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with inventory management systems and warehouse operations.

- Ability to operate a reach truck and other warehouse equipment safely.
- Ability to work on concrete floors for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment.
